The container ship Wan Hai 503, which exploded off Indian waters in June, has found refuge with Dubai’s Jebel Ali port, after being refused entry by ports around the Indian Ocean.
Vessel-tracking data from S&P shows that the 2005-built 4,333 TEU Wan Hai 503 is scheduled to arrive in Jebel Ali on 14 September.
On 9 June, a blast tore through Wan Hai 503 as it sailed from Colombo, Sri Lanka, to India’s Nhava Sheva port. Taiwan’s Wan Hai Lines, which owns the ship, deployed the vessel to a South China-India service jointly operated with Hapag-Lloyd and Evergreen Marine Corporation.
