Offshore accommodation vessel specialist Prosafe has won an extension from Ithaca Energy in the UK North Sea.
Ithaca Energy exercised two weeks of options for the 1982-built and 2012-upgraded Safe Caledonia to continue providing accommodation support at the Captain field.
The vessel will stay with the company until mid-December 2025. Ithaca has a further 10 weeks of options available. The total value of the contract extension is approximately $1.8m.
The Oslo-listed owner and operator of six accommodation units and Ithaca signed the initial contract for the unit in late August last year.
Operations on the Captain field started in June 2025 and were set to last for six months. Ithaca also has three months of options attached to the deal. The original value of the deal was $26m. If all options are used, this will climb to $37m.
The unit has operated in the UKCS continuously for over 10 years and has also previously secured contracts in Mexico, Nigeria, and Australia.
