In May, Batu Ampar Container Terminal, located in the Indonesian city of Batam across the Singapore Strait from Singapore, received five new ship-to-shore cranes.
Built from Chinese port equipment manufacturer ZPMC, the new machines are part of the second terminal’s phase development (of three), according to DynaLiners.
This will ultimately see two mobile harbour cranes and 12 rubber-tired gantries, delivered as well, which will increase the terminal’s capacity from 350,000 to 900,000 TEUs.
The initial operations for the second phase could start as soon as September, according to the DynaLiners report.
