Imabari Shipbuilding has successfully delivered two new ocean-going bulk carriers: the 64,000 DWT FEDERAL INTREPID from Shin Kasado Dockyard and the 40,000 DWT VIGOR OL from Head Office & Imabari Shipyard.

Versatile Cargo Capabilities
Both vessels feature advanced hold construction with topside and hopper tanks, allowing them to transport a wide range of bulk cargoes, including grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coils, and long-size steel. Cargo handling is enhanced through wide hatch openings, folding-type hatch covers, and four deck cranes per ship. Both ships are designed to comply with IMSBC and IMDG Codes for safe transport of specialized cargoes.

Environmental Compliance
The vessels are equipped with systems meeting MARPOL and ballast water management requirements. Both ships exceed standard Phase 2 CO₂ emission regulations and incorporate Phase 3 compliance ahead of schedule. They also feature ballast water treatment systems and Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) certifications in line with the Ship Recycling Convention.

Propulsion and Performance
High propulsion efficiency is achieved through energy-saving devices, high-efficiency propellers, and low-friction hull coatings. Both ships maintain service speeds of approximately 14 knots.
