HyCC has announced plans to develop H2Next, a large-scale electrolyzer in Rotterdam aimed at supporting industrial decarbonization.

The announcement was made during the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam.

The company has signed an agreement with the Port of Rotterdam Authority to reserve a site at the Maasvlakte’s first hydrogen conversion park, strategically located near future offshore wind farm connections.

H2Next is expected to produce around 25,000 tons of green hydrogen annually, serving refineries, the chemical sector, and mobility in the Rotterdam port area.

Leveraging the upcoming national hydrogen network and the Delta Rhine Corridor, the project will also supply green hydrogen to industrial hubs across Northwest Europe.

HyCC is currently concluding the study phase and plans to make a final investment decision by 2028, with production targeted to begin by 2030.
