Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT) has expanded its equipment fleet with the arrival of seven new remote-controlled electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RCeRTGCs), enhancing container yard operations and overall efficiency at Terminal D.

Delivered on 15 October 2025, the new cranes mark another milestone in Terminal D’s continuous development program, focused on upgrading infrastructure and adopting modern, environmentally friendly technologies. With this addition, Terminal D now operates a total of 43 remote-controlled rubber-tyred gantry cranes, significantly improving yard coverage and operational performance.

The RCeRTGCs feature advanced automation and remote-control capabilities that ensure precise, safe, and energy-efficient container handling. Their electric operation reduces noise and emissions, reinforcing HPT’s commitment to sustainable port operations.

This investment is part of HPT’s ongoing “Green Port” strategy, which aims to lower carbon emissions and promote clean energy use across terminal operations. By integrating more electric-powered, automated equipment, HPT continues to align with Hutchison Ports’ global sustainability objectives while maintaining high productivity standards.

The new cranes underscore Hutchison Ports Thailand’s dedication to innovation, operational excellence, and environmental responsibility as it continues to strengthen Terminal D’s position as one of the region’s most advanced container terminals.
