Dutch offshore construction player Heerema Marine Contractors has chosen Marcel de Nooijer as the company’s chief executive officer (CEO).
De Nooijer, who will join the company in January 2026, brings over three decades of broad managerial experience in the aviation industry, a sector that, much like offshore energy, demands the highest standards of safety, operates with significant capital investments, and delivers complex projects in a highly international environment.
This background provides a strong foundation for leading Heerema Marine Contractors as the company continues to play a pivotal role in the global energy transition.
“After three decades in the aviation industry, I look forward to applying my leadership and strategic experience in the dynamic and international offshore energy sector,” the incoming CEO said.
“We welcome Marcel as CEO of Heerema Marine Contractors. I am confident that he will successfully guide our company into the future. Until January 1, I will continue in my role as interim CEO of Heerema Marine Contractors and will support him during the transition after January 1,” said Pieter Heerema, the company chairman.
