Gulftainer has launched the country’s first bonded Inland Container Depot in Sharjah setting a new milestone in the UAE’s trade and logistics sector.

Now fully operational, the Sharjah ICD enhances the nation’s logistics infrastructure and efficiency, offering seamless links between seaports and inland markets.

Located just 20 km from Sharjah Port and 140 km from Khorfakkan Port, the facility provides strategic multimodal connectivity for importers, exporters, NVOCCs, and carriers.

Designed to streamline customs procedures, accelerate cargo flows, and reduce costs, the ICD is equipped with advanced mobile container handling systems and high-speed IT infrastructure.

Its integration with regional and international supply chains will further cement the UAE’s position as a global logistics hub.

Farid Belbouab, Group CEO of Gulftainer, highlighted the country’s first bonded Inland Container Depot, as a strategic development that will redefine regional trade flows and a milestone that reinforces the role of Sharjah and the UAE as leading hubs for global logistics and trade.

As such, it is expected to play a transformative role in regional logistics and supply chain dynamics.
