
Goltens Worldwide and WE Tech Solutions Oy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly deliver advanced marine retrofit projects. Goltens will serve as WE Tech’s preferred global retrofit partner, combining WE Tech’s patented energy-optimization technology with Goltens’ turnkey retrofit execution and global network.
Olli-Pekka Aalto, Chief Sales Officer at WE Tech, said, “Goltens’ global reach and technical expertise allow shipowners to reduce fuel consumption, cut emissions, and modernize fleets seamlessly.” Goltens CEO Sandeep Seth added, “This partnership accelerates shipowners’ decarbonization and meets today’s regulatory and commercial demands.”
WE Tech’s technology includes variable frequency drives, permanent magnet shaft generators, DC-Link power distribution, and power management systems. Goltens will handle engineering, feasibility studies, 3D scanning, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle support. The collaboration covers Ro-Pax ferries, Ro-Ro ships, tankers, and bulk carriers, focusing on reducing fuel costs, lowering emissions, and improving electrical performance.
