Freightos launches Visa-powered instant payment for freight forwarders

Freightos has partnered with Visa and Transcard to launch a new point-of-booking payment solution. The platform offers instant credit approvals, flexible payment terms, and direct access to Visa’s virtual card technology and global banking network. All features are embedded within the WebCargo by Freightos air cargo booking platform.

Smaller freight forwarders often face cash flow challenges. They must pay carriers upfront while waiting 30–90 days to receive customer payments. Freightos’ new solution closes this gap. It provides credit at the moment of booking. Forwarders can now pay carriers on time, manage cash flow, and grow their business without costly guarantees or accreditations.

“Liquidity challenges affect freight forwarders every day,” said Zvi Schreiber, CEO of Freightos. “By embedding Visa’s payment tools into our platform, forwarders can access flexible credit instantly. This helps them operate efficiently and scale their business.”

Darren Parslow, Global Head of Visa Commercial Solutions, added: “Our partnership with Freightos advances the industry. It uses secure and scalable solutions to streamline payments and support business growth in global trade.”

Also, John Garden, EVP Transportation at Transcard, said: “Transcard’s platform combines with WebCargo and Visa to provide seamless access to credit. Forwarders can grow their business, pay carriers promptly, and simplify payments.”

OatFi powers the solution with API-first infrastructure. It automates the payment workflow and offers flexible credit terms. The result is a fully integrated, automated experience. Forwarders can access working capital when and where they need it.

“Forwarders need payment flexibility that matches global freight speeds,” said Mike Barbosa, CEO of OatFi. “Our infrastructure embeds directly into Freightos’ platform. It allows forwarders and carriers to transact on terms that suit them.”

Groove Global Logistics tested the new solution in beta. “Signing up was easy,” said Jeff Schumacher, CEO. “We got an instant Visa-powered credit line with no bank guarantee. This lets us take on bigger opportunities, pay suppliers on time, and offer better terms to our customers.”

Lastly, the platform integrates booking and payment in one place. Forwarders see all costs, reconcile payments instantly, and track transactions from start to finish.

Key Benefits:

  • Book directly with major airlines without pre-established accounts or IATA accreditation.

  • Access flexible credit through a simple application.

  • Maintain full transparency with no hidden fees.

  • Reconcile payments instantly on the platform.

  • Align financing with business needs to streamline cash flow and growth.

Moreover, the Visa-powered solution launches first in the United States. It will later expand to the UK and other markets. It currently supports airlines such as Qatar Airways, IAG, Emirates, Nippon Cargo Airlines, Qantas, Thai Airways, Coyne Airways, Pacific Air Cargo, and Hainan Airlines. More carriers will be added soon.
