Flex LNG has appointed Marius Foss as chief executive officer, confirming him in the role after several months as interim CEO. Foss has also served as the company’s chief commercial officer.
Foss joined the LNG carrier owner in 2018 and has since played a key role in shaping its commercial direction. He brings more than 35 years of shipping industry experience, including senior roles at Frontline, Golar LNG and Avance Gas.
“On behalf of the board, I am pleased that Marius has accepted the role as CEO of Flex LNG,” chairman Ola Lorentzon said. “His proven commercial capabilities and leadership during his tenure as interim CEO, provide a strong foundation for the company’s continued development.”
Foss said he looks forward to driving the company’s next phase of growth. “I appreciate the trust and support of the Board to appoint me as CEO. I look forward to work together with the highly experienced and talented organisation to further develop Flex LNG for the future. With a modern fleet, substantial contract backlog and strong balance sheet, the company is very well positioned to capitalise on the opportunities that lie ahead.”
He stepped into the interim role earlier this year following the resignation of Øystein Kalleklev, who led the John Fredriksen-backed outfit for seven and a half years.
