All-in freight rates from the Far East to global destinations showed predominantly declining trends year-over-year during Q2 2025.
Australasia stood as the only trade lane maintaining consistent monthly growth throughout the quarter. A uniform pattern emerged across all routes where rate deterioration accelerated progressively May performed worse than April, and June worse than May.
Latin America experienced the steepest rate decline at an average of -30%, followed closely by Europe and the Middle East/Indian Subcontinent at approximately -25%.
For all-in rates from global origins to the Far East, every intercontinental trade route and each monthly period underperformed compared to 2024 levels.
Latin America and Middle East/Indian Subcontinent routes suffered relatively moderate contractions averaging 5%.
European import rates, however, experienced severe erosion with a -35% decline across the three-month period.
