George Procopiou’s Dynacom Tankers has returned to China’s Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for more LR1 product carriers.

Brokers in Greece report the owner has contracted for four 75,000 dwt newbuilds with delivery in 2028, after commissioning the Singapore-listed private yard for another pair last year that is expected to join Dynacom’s fleet in 2026.

While the first two newbuilds had been priced at $53m each, the latest series is estimated at $55m.

The Athens-based outfit, with nearly 70 tankers under management, also has LR1s at New Times Shipbuilding where it has placed multiple orders for several tonnage segments. The company recently signed for 158,000 dwt suezmax newbuilds at Samsung Heavy Industries for $83m apiece, which have been outsourced to PaxOcean Zhoushan in China.
