Norwegian offshore contractor DOF Group has landed a sizeable well intervention contract in North America, securing work with Shell Offshore in the US Gulf of Mexico.
The contract covers hydraulic subsea well intervention services and will be executed by DOF’s regional subsea team.
The scope includes project management and engineering, provision of an intervention vessel, and all surface and subsea services needed to deliver chemical fluids into selected subsea wells.
Offshore operations are scheduled to kick off in the second quarter of 2026. DOF expects combined vessel utilisation of between 75 and 120 days during the campaign in the US Gulf.
DOF classified the award as “substantial”, a category the group defines as contracts with a value in the range of $25m to $50m.
Chief executive Mons Aase said the award underlines DOF’s push to broaden its service offering and deepen relationships with major operators, as activity levels in mature offshore basins continue to support demand for intervention and life-of-field services.
