DOF wins $150m ROV support vessel contract in Brazil

Norwegian offshore vessel owner DOF has secured another long-term contract in Brazil, adding a four-year deal with Petrobras for the ROV support vessel Skandi Commander.
The Oslo-listed company said the award follows the same competitive tender process that earlier delivered six four-year RSV contracts.
The latest contract is set to start in January 2027 and carries an estimated value of around $150m.
A notable feature of the deal is the scope of work for Skandi Commander, which will deploy an autonomous underwater vehicle alongside its remotely operated vehicle. DOF said the combination broadens the vessel’s role in subsea inspection and intervention work.
The award adds further weight to DOF’s growing backlog in Brazil, where the company has been steadily locking in long-term employment across its offshore fleet.
Chief executive Mons Aase said DOF has added more than $2bn to its backlog in Brazil this year through a series of AHTS, RSV and PIDF tenders.
“This year marks 25 years of DOF operating in Brazil,” Aase said. “We now have a strong platform for value creation, with a large share of our fleet fixed on firm contracts that extend beyond 2030.”
