Diana Shipping has lined up forward employment for one of its kamsarmax bulkers, adding to a steady run of period fixtures by the Greek owner.
The US-listed company said it has agreed a time charter with Paralos Shipping for the 2010-built Myrsini at $13,500 per day, less a 5% commission. The deal runs until December 20, 2026, with options through to February 20, 2027, and is due to start on January 1, 2026.
The 82,117 dwt vessel is currently trading on charter to Cargill at $13,000 per day, minus a 4.75% commission.
Diana said it estimates the new fixture will generate about $4.71m in revenue over the minimum period of the charter.
The deal builds on recent chartering activity at the Athens-based owner, which controls a fleet of 36 dry bulk vessels. Earlier this month, Diana secured multi-year cover for two ultramax units at slightly improved rates compared with their previous charters, before fixing out one of its capesize bulkers.
