DeepOcean has secured a new contract on the UK continental shelf to deliver subsea construction and tie-in work for a field that will be developed as a subsea tieback to an existing host facility.
The job covers the installation of a flexible production riser, a flowline and an umbilical linking the host to the subsea tree. DeepOcean will also handle flowline and umbilical protection, along with commissioning of the new infrastructure.
Robin Mawhinney, managing director of DeepOcean UK, said the award reflects the company’s long track record in subsea construction at a time when domestic energy supply remains a political and industry priority. “We’re proud to support our client with specialist engineering, operational excellence and delivery certainty to realise this key project for the life extension of the existing infrastructure,” he said.
Engineering and project management will be run from DeepOcean’s Aberdeen office. Offshore work will be carried out in two phases: an initial campaign for subsea construction and tie-in operations, followed by a second phase for commissioning using another vessel from DeepOcean’s chartered fleet.
