d’Amico International Shipping (DIS) has announced the sale of two of its oldest MR product tankers—Glenda Melody and Glenda Melissa.
The vessels, both 47,200 dwt and built in 2011 by Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in South Korea, have been sold to undisclosed buyers for a combined consideration of $36.3m. Delivery of the Glenda Melody is expected before the end of July 2025, with the Glenda Melissa to follow by December 21, 2025.
According to the company, the transactions will yield approximately $31 million in cash, net of sales commissions and after settling residual bank debt on the ships.
Carlos di Mottola, CEO of d’Amico International Shipping, said: “These transactions are in line with our long-term strategy of operating a modern and eco-friendly fleet, reducing our environmental footprint, and enhancing our earnings potential.”
DIS owns or operates 32 double-hulled product tankers, of which 29 are fully owned and three are on bareboat charter. The company’s fleet now boasts an average age of 9.5 years.
