Daehan Shipbuilding has reinforced its dominance in the Suezmax crude oil carrier segment, signing another contract on September 30 with a shipping company based in Oceania—its second order in as many days.

According to industry data, ten Suezmax-class crude oil carriers were ordered globally in September, with Daehan Shipbuilding capturing eight of them within just ten days. The achievement highlights the South Korean shipbuilder’s strong position and growing influence in the global tanker market.

The company’s success is attributed to its technical expertise, proven delivery reliability, and advanced eco-friendly shipbuilding technology that meets the latest IMO environmental standards. The newly ordered vessel will also adhere to these regulations and is slated for delivery in October 2027.

A Daehan Shipbuilding spokesperson noted, “Securing eight vessels in such a short period shows that both long-term and new clients recognize Daehan Shipbuilding as a leading shipyard for tanker construction. Building on this momentum, we will continue to strengthen our position in the global market and lead the mid-size tanker sector.”
