CY Shipping and BigLift Shipping are adding two more new heavylift vessels to their joint fleet, bringing the total to eight ships. The newbuilds are scheduled for delivery in the first and third quarters of 2028, respectively.
As with the earlier vessels of the so-called BC-class, the units will be built by Jing Jiang Nanyang Shipbuilding in China. No price has been divulged.
The 180-m-long and 43-m-wide BC-class vessels are purpose-built for heavy and modular cargo transport. A key design element is full operational compatibility with BigLift’s existing MC-class units, offering flexibility in fleet deployment and interchangeability across project needs, the compay explained.
“The introduction of the BC-Class vessels reflects our shared vision with BigLift Shipping: to set new benchmarks in heavy transport services,” said James Jung, director at CY Shipping.
Johan Boer, commercial director at BigLift Shipping, added: “With the four BC-class vessels, we’re not just adding capacity—we’re adding reliability, flexibility, redundancy, and a unified standard of excellence.”
The two new vessels are the third and fourth in the BC-class series aimed at meeting growing demand for modular and oversized transport solutions in global energy, offshore, and industrial project markets, the partners noted.
