COSCO SHIPPING Europe has introduced a new system at its Fujian Petrochemical Terminal to cut air pollution from fuel and chemical operations. The technology captures volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released during storage and transfer, preventing harmful gases from entering the atmosphere.
Collected gases from ships, docks, and storage tanks are directed to a treatment unit that cools and filters them before release. The system can handle up to 700 cubic meters of gas per hour.
An online platform monitors gas levels, flow rates, and treatment performance in real time, helping operators maintain air quality and make smarter environmental decisions.
The initiative reflects COSCO SHIPPING Europe’s commitment to sustainable development, cleaner air, and greener operations.
