The CMA CGM Group, a global leader in sea, land, air and logistics, has opened a new agency in Tonga as part of its strategic expansion across the Pacific Islands. The move follows the launch of company agencies in Samoa in September and American Samoa in November, completing CMA CGM’s planned Pacific network growth for 2025.

The agency, based in Nuku’alofa, gives local communities and businesses easier access to CMA CGM’s shipping and logistics services, allowing the group to provide more tailored solutions across the region.

The new presence enables faster response times, closer partnerships and contributes to stimulating both the Tongan economy and trade with surrounding islands.

The agency is led by General Manager Cadriana Mataele, reflecting CMA CGM’s commitment to promoting female leadership across its Pacific operations.

“The Tongan way of life thrives through the connections we have with each other. In a similar way, CMA CGM allows Tonga to thrive by connecting it to the world,” said Cadriana Mataele, General Manager, CMA CGM Tonga.

“As a global player in shipping and logistics, our commitment is to provide simplified and optimised solutions that meet the needs of our island country. At the heart of this is a commitment to providing environmentally sustainable solutions, it simply reflects who we are.”
