CMA CGM Announces Peak Season Surcharge for US to Caribbean Trade Lane
Shipping giant CMA CGM has notified its clients of an upcoming Peak Season Surcharge (PSS). This surcharge will be effective for cargo with a gate-in date from September 23, 2024, to January 5, 2025. The PSS applies to shipments originating in the USA and destined for a range of Caribbean locations, including the Windward Islands, French West Indies, Aruba, Bahamas, Bonaire, Curaçao, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Suriname, and Trinidad & Tobago.
The surcharge will impact both dry and reefer cargo. For dry containers, the PSS is set at US$250 for 20' containers and US$500 for 40' and 45' containers. For reefer cargo, the rates are US$300 per 20' container and US$600 per 40' container.
