CMA CGM and Edison carried out Italy’s first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering for a container vessel at the Port of Trieste. The CMA CGM SALAMANQUE was refueled by the LNG carrier Ravenna Knutsen.
The operation is a key step in reducing sulfur and nitrogen oxide emissions in shipping. It also highlights CMA CGM’s confidence in Italy’s ports and maritime infrastructure to support LNG bunkering.
The project strengthens local LNG supply chains and demonstrates the efficiency and safety of such operations. CMA CGM and Edison credited their teams and partners for the successful execution.
