CLdN launches new weekly service between Belgium and Irish ports

CLdN has announced the launch of a new weekly container service connecting Zeebrugge with the Irish ports of Cork and Dublin. The new service is set to commence on May 10.

The company will deploy an 800 TEU lift-on/lift-off (LoLo) vessel, the JSP Rover, to operate between its Albert II terminal in Zeebrugge and the Republic of Ireland.

This new LoLo service is expected to enhance CLdN’s capacity to serve the Irish market and allow for greater optimization of its roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) fleet deployment.

By expanding its offering at the Port of Cork, CLdN aims to strengthen its strategic position and offer customers increased flexibility on routes between Ireland and mainland Europe.

The service responds to growing demand for freight transport between Ireland and the continent and follows the successful integration of combined LoLo and RoRo operations from CLdN’s Rotterdam terminals, introduced last year.

It is also part of the company’s broader LoLo strategy, which includes the construction of new container vessels scheduled for delivery starting in January 2027.

The new sailing complements CLdN’s existing RoRo services, which currently operate four times per week from Zeebrugge to Ireland (twice to Cork and twice to Dublin).

With this addition, the total number of weekly return sailings between Ireland and CLdN’s key continental hubs in Rotterdam and Zeebrugge rises to 14.
