Encouraged by rising trade between China and South Korea, Chinese liner operators are adding more services to South Korea. This is causing tension with South Korean ro-ro passenger ship (also known as car ferries) operators that also carry containers to China.
On 16 October, Shandong Marine, the feeder operating subsidiary of China’s Shandong Profit Group, began a weekly service between South Korea’s resort island Jeju and China’s Qingdao port.
