China Marine Bunker (PetroChina) (CHIMBUSCO), which recently secured the third spot in the 2023 “Top Ten Global Bunkering Enterprises” list with a bunkering volume of 22.2 million tons, participated in the 7th International Petroleum and Gas Enterprises Conference (IPEC 2024).
The company made a notable debut at the Port of Zeebrugge in Belgium, supplying LNG fuel to the “Peony Leader,” an LNG dual-fuel car carrier docked at the terminal. This operation marked CHIMBUSCO’s first LNG bunkering in Europe, signifying the official launch of its green energy services in international markets.
The recipient vessel, a new generation of large green car carriers from COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers, is powered by LNG dual fuel and includes 12 vehicle decks. After being loaded at a domestic shipyard in early September, it embarked on its maiden European voyage.
In recent years, alongside its strong performance in traditional ship fuel supply, CHIMBUSCO has closely monitored developments in alternative ship fuel markets. On November 10, 2023, CHIMBUSCO Guangzhou completed its first LNG refuelling operation for the “Hangli 868” ship, introducing green energy to inland waterway shipping.
Previously, in March 2022, CHIMBUSCO Shipping successfully provided fuel for the maiden voyage of “Yuan Rui Yang,” the world’s first LNG dual-fuel ultra-large crude oil tanker.
