Carrier Transicold has introduced the Reefer Enhancement and Next-life (REN) Program, designed to extend the service life and boost the efficiency of PrimeLINE® refrigerated units aged six to ten years.
The program includes upgrades such as high-efficiency EDGE compressors, optimized coils, and refrigerant retrofit kits. Customers can also add Carrier’s Lynx
Fleet telematics system for predictive maintenance and improved fleet visibility.
“With REN, shipping lines can enhance efficiency, reliability, and sustainability without replacing equipment,” said Pablo Martinez, Senior Director at Carrier Climate Solutions Transportation. “The program helps fleets cut costs, reduce emissions, and meet evolving regulations like the EU ETS.”
Carrier expects the initiative to deliver significant operational and environmental benefits across its installed base of nearly 1 million reefers worldwide.
