Subsea well construction and intervention services provider AKOFS Offshore has won a contract for one of its multipurpose service vessels (MPSV) with Brazilian state-owned giant Petrobras.
The company’s 2009-built vessel AKOFS Santos, previously known as the Skandi Santos, was selected for a four-year MPSV contract by which is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026, subject to final signing.
Akastor, parent company of AKOFS Offshore, stated in its financial report for the quarter that the total gross contract value is estimated at $246m.
Of that amount, $141m will be recognised as revenue by AKOFS Offshore and included in the company’s backlog.
The vessel is currently working with Petrobras, and the new contract will extend the firm contract period until the third quarter of 2030.
The company also has its Aker Wayfarer vessel working for the Brazilian firm. It’s firm contract is set to end in the third quarter of 2027.
