BIMCO and the Hong Kong Chamber of Shipping have signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 8 October, marking a new chapter in maritime collaboration. The agreement aims to strengthen global cooperation in the maritime transport sector.
Both organizations highlighted the critical role of the maritime industry in driving global economic growth and social development. They expressed a shared commitment to fostering mutual cooperation and enhancing long-standing relations between international maritime stakeholders, based on equality and mutual benefit.
The MoU outlines key areas of collaboration, including continuous dialogue to address emerging industry challenges, sharing expertise and best practices to support innovation and operational excellence, and promoting the use of BIMCO standard contracts in China, with selected contracts to be translated into Chinese.
This partnership represents a significant step toward deeper integration and cooperation within the global maritime community.
