Bilbao PortLab hosted the final demonstration of two projects funded under the second Ports 4.0 call in the commercial category, highlighting advances in digitalisation, real-time monitoring, and sustainability for the logistics community.
Navozyme Maritime Technologies presented NSwap, a blockchain-enabled platform for secure MARPOL e-declarations, and NMap, a tool that streamlines ship clearance and hazardous goods declarations. Both solutions were validated in real port environments with the support of TRADEBE, Alfaship Shipping Agency, State Ports Authority, and several Spanish port authorities.
CLCircular showcased upgrades to its IoT-based cargo monitoring system. Improvements include a redesigned cloud platform, new-generation IoT sensors, and validated batteries. The system now enables real-time tracking of goods — including perishables like fruits and vegetables — across 400+ destinations, while reducing waste by avoiding disposable sensors.
The event underscored Ports 4.0’s role in fostering open innovation and driving the port sector’s digital and sustainable transformation. Bilbao PortLab and the Port of Bilbao reaffirmed their commitment to bringing advanced technologies to the ecosystem, improving efficiency and competitiveness.
