Baltic Hub has officially opened its new T3 terminal in Gdańsk, marking a major advancement in Poland’s maritime infrastructure and further solidifying the country’s position in the global supply chain.

The inauguration ceremony gathered government officials, regional authorities, and industry leaders to celebrate one of the most significant port investments in the Baltic Sea region.

Occupying 36 hectares, the greenfield T3 terminal is expected to be fully operational by the end of 2025. Once completed, it will expand Baltic Hub’s annual container handling capacity from 3 million TEUs to 4.5 million TEUs, placing it among Europe’s largest container terminals.

Its infrastructure includes a 717-meter quay with a depth of 17.5 meters, enabling the port to handle the world’s largest container vessels.

Container handling operations are already underway as part of the commissioning phase, which is set for completion by October 2025.

Designed with sustainability at its core, the T3 project incorporates environmentally responsible construction practices, green technologies, and low-emission materials. All terminal equipment operates on green electricity, supporting Baltic Hub’s goals to cut carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

In 2024, Polish ports reached a new milestone, handling a record 3.3 million TEUs, a 10% increase from the previous year. Baltic Hub alone processed over 2.2 million TEUs.

Jan Van Mossevelde, CEO of Baltic Hub, commented that this project fuels economic growth in Pomerania and strengthens Poland’s strategic position as a logistics hub.

Ong Kim Pong, Group CEO of PSA International, added that T3 reflects a Node to Network strategy linking individual terminals into an intelligent, resilient, and sustainable global system.
