FTAI Aviation, a company specialising in power solutions for aircraft engines, has sold its offshore energy vessels to an undisclosed buyer for a sum of approximately $143m.
The sale of the Pioneer and Pride vessels is part of the company’s shift to concentrate on its core business operations, specifically the aftermarket needs of the CFM56 and V2500 commercial engine programs which are among the most widely used engines in commercial aviation.
The sale of the pair represents a significant transaction for FTAI Aviation, and the proceeds will provide additional resources for the company to invest in its main business areas.
The Pioneer is a DP2 offshore subsea support vessel, equipped for offshore construction, ROV, diving, survey, and geotechnical support roles. It was built in 2011, has an overall length of 82 m, a breadth of 20 m, provides over 700 sq m of clear deck space, and over 1,000 tons of cargo carrying capacity.
As for the Pride, it is a DP3 SURF, IMR, offshore construction vessel capable of well intervention. It was built in 2014 with an overall length of 130 m and breadth of 28 m. It has 2,000 sq m of deck space and 6,000 tonnes of cargo carrying capacity.
