For the first time in history, APM Terminals Gothenburg will receive three weekly mainliner calls to Asia.
The new service enables more frequent, reliable, and sustainable goods transport between Asia and Sweden.
Behind this historic development stands the French shipping giant CMA CGM, which at the end of October will add Gothenburg as a new port of call on its FAL1 Asia–Europe service.
The line connects Gothenburg directly with some of the world’s largest ports in China, South Korea, Singapore, and Europe.
Mikael Gutman, Managing Director of APM Terminals Gothenburg, said that three strong weekly alternatives for direct services to Asia significantly strengthen Swedish industry competitiveness, providing faster lead times and access to new, exciting markets.
One of the vessels in the FAL1 service, the 366-meter-long CMA CGM Symi, is powered by LNG, a fuel that significantly reduces emissions compared to conventional marine diesel.
Jonatan Östberg, Chief Commercial Officer CMA CGM Sweden, said the CMA CGM Symi demonstrates a commitment to further accelerate transport and logistics decarbonization.
