AM Green and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a green energy supply chain between India and Northwestern Europe, with Rotterdam serving as the central hub.

The agreement aims to enable the annual export of up to 1 million tons of green fuels, including bunkering fuels and Sustainable Aviation Fuels.

The partnership will also assess the infrastructure requirements for developing terminal facilities in Rotterdam and along the broader supply route to Northwestern Europe.

This includes the safe distribution and handling of hydrogen-based fuels and derivatives, effectively linking India’s Net Zero Industrial Clusters with European markets. The envisioned supply chain has the potential to facilitate up to USD 1 billion in green fuel trade between the two regions.

AM Green is advancing its ambitious target to develop 5 million tons of green ammonia production capacity by 2030, equivalent to around 1 million tons of green hydrogen, to meet surging global demand.

Initial production is set to begin in Kakinada, India.

Boudewijn Siemons, CEO of the Port of Rotterdam Authority, commented that this agreement marks an important step towards establishing a robust supply chain for low-carbon fuels and chemicals.

Anil Chalamalasetty, Founder of AM Green and the Greenko Group, stated that by enabling the smooth movement of green molecules from India to Europe, this collaboration enhances AM Green’s role as a leading platform for clean energy transition and accelerates industrial decarbonization worldwide.
