AD Ports Group has signed a strategic collaboration agreement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to accelerate innovation in digital trade, smart logistics, and automated port operations across MENA and global markets.

The partnership combines AD Ports Group’s expertise in smart port infrastructure, digitalisation, and AI-driven logistics with UNDP’s global mandate in governance, policy, and sustainable development. Together, they aim to promote resilient trade ecosystems and support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The collaboration will focus on developing scalable digital platforms, advancing AI in supply chain management, trade finance, and customs, and adopting IoT and automation solutions to enhance port efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Joint research, case studies, policy insights, and high-level forums will further drive innovation in global trade.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, AD Ports Group CEO, said: “This partnership underscores our commitment to sustainable innovation in trade and logistics. By combining our smart port expertise with UNDP’s development mandate, we aim to build inclusive and resilient trade ecosystems that enhance efficiency and support the UN SDGs.”

Abdallah Al Dardari, UNDP Assistant Secretary-General, added: “Digital transformation is key to building smart, inclusive, and secure trade systems. Our collaboration with AD Ports Group leverages AI and digital innovation to promote sustainability, inclusivity, and efficiency in global trade.”

The agreement highlights a shared ambition to drive innovation and sustainable growth while reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s position as a global hub for trade and smart logistics.
