AD Ports Group, BUA Group, and MAIR Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The goal is to explore sugar refining, edible oil production, and integrated logistics solutions.
The partnership aims to build food processing facilities in Abu Dhabi and select international markets. It seeks to create a world-class agro-food ecosystem and a leading regional hub. The initiative supports the UAE National Food Security Strategy 2051. It also drives industrial growth and strengthens the UAE’s role in global agri-food trade.
The MoU covers potential projects at Khalifa Port, as well as opportunities in Africa and Latin America. The partners will explore grains, pulses, animal feed, and other agricultural commodities. They will use Khalifa Port’s infrastructure and AD Ports’ global logistics network. AD Ports is already developing agri-bulk handling and storage with partners in Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, said:
“This MoU expands our role in agro-processing value chains. By combining our logistics capabilities with BUA’s industrial expertise and MAIR’s focus on food, we aim to strengthen supply chains, create industrial value, and boost trade between Africa and the UAE.”
Abdul Samad Rabiu, Founder and Chairman of BUA Group, added:
“This partnership marks a key step in BUA’s global expansion. Together, we aim to build a resilient food processing ecosystem that strengthens trade and delivers long-term economic value.”
Nehayan Hamad Alameri, Managing Director and Group CEO of MAIR Group, said:
“This collaboration combines investment, industrial development, and logistics expertise. We are exploring sugar refining, edible oils, and broader food processing to create a sustainable and resilient food ecosystem that supports regional food security.”
