BMF Port Burgas

BMF Port Burgas, a major operator at the Black Sea port of Burgas, has joined the International Cargo Handling Coordination Association (ICHCA). The company manages modern terminals handling containerized, bulk, liquid, and general cargo. It sees ICHCA membership as a key step in advancing safety and operational excellence.

The partnership supports both organizations’ shared goal: safeguarding workers while maintaining productivity. ICHCA, with over 70 years of experience, offers top-level global expertise to improve cargo handling practices worldwide.

Ms. Vesela Dzhundzhurova, Chief Legal Advisor at BMF, explained:
“BMF Port Burgas pursues world-class safety in all operations. We constantly invest to deliver reliable and safe services. Joining ICHCA allows us to learn, network, and contribute to best practices across the cargo handling chain.”

ICHCA CEO Richard Steele welcomed BMF as a new member:
“BMF Port Burgas has a clear mission to maintain and improve safe working environments. We are delighted to include them in our global community, where they can share knowledge and influence industry standards.”

Membership gives BMF access to ICHCA’s Technical Library, a vast repository of research and safety guidelines. It also opens doors to global networking with port operators, equipment manufacturers, and logistics specialists. ICHCA represents the cargo handling sector in consultations with the United Nations, including the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and UNECE, giving members a strong voice in shaping future safety regulations.

Ms. Dzhundzhurova concluded:
“The ICHCA library and network are impressive. This partnership ensures BMF Port Burgas not only follows industry standards but helps set them.”
