CSP Iberian Valencia Terminal has ordered six additional Konecranes hybrid rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes as part of its eco-efficiency and modernization programme at the Port of Valencia.

The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2025, with delivery scheduled for December 2026. It marks the terminal’s second RTG investment with Konecranes in 2025 and builds on its existing fleet of Konecranes equipment.

The new hybrid RTGs will support CSP Iberian Valencia’s long-term strategy to improve operational efficiency while reducing CO₂ emissions from container handling. The cranes will operate alongside the terminal’s current RTG fleet.

Equipped with Konecranes’ hybrid drive technology, the RTGs use onboard batteries supported by a diesel generator for recharging. Intelligent power management and regenerative braking reduce fuel consumption and emissions compared with conventional diesel-powered units.

The cranes will also feature Active Load Control, gantry collision prevention, and truck lift prevention systems. These smart features enhance safety and productivity in high-demand terminal environments.

CSP Iberian Valencia said the investment reflects its confidence in the performance and reliability of Konecranes RTGs and their role in meeting eco-efficiency targets without compromising productivity or maintenance costs.

Konecranes said demand for hybrid solutions continues to grow as terminals seek practical ways to cut emissions while maintaining efficient yard operations. The agreement also supports Konecranes’ Ecolifting roadmap, which aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate tailpipe emissions across port operations.

To date, more than 3,000 Konecranes RTGs, including hybrid models, have been delivered worldwide.
