ABS and AMOG Consulting have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to develop an Offshore Mooring Digital Twin.
The collaboration combines AMOG’s monitoring technology with ABS’ classification and certification expertise. Together, they will deliver a detailed integrity-monitoring solution for floating offshore assets.
The system will create a digital model of moorings, risers, and subsea cables for site-specific floaters. This integrated solution will support integrity management, regulatory compliance, and lifecycle performance.
Miguel Hernandez, ABS Senior VP, Global Offshore, said: “Operators want digital twin systems that feed directly into class and regulatory processes. The MOU focuses on high-risk areas such as mooring and riser components and subsea cables. Failures in these areas are costly and cause downtime.
Using continuous monitoring alongside class-recognized processes, operators can adopt condition-based inspections, extend asset life, reduce failure risk, and improve uptime.
