Imabari Shipbuilding has delivered KL WINGS, a 64,000-deadweight bulk carrier built at its Iwagi Zosen yard. The vessel was handed over on December 17.

KL WINGS is an ocean-going Handymax bulk carrier designed in line with Common Structural Rules for bulk carriers and oil tankers (CSR BC & OT). The ship features topside and hopper tanks in each cargo hold, allowing it to carry a wide range of dry bulk cargoes.

The vessel is equipped with wide cargo hatch openings, folding-type hatch covers, and four deck cranes. These features enhance cargo handling efficiency and operational flexibility. KL WINGS is suitable for transporting bulk cargoes such as grain, coal, ore, cement, steel coils, and long steel products. It also complies with the IMSBC Code and the IMDG Code.

The ship incorporates multiple environmental compliance systems. These include equipment meeting MARPOL requirements and the Ballast Water Management Convention. The vessel also meets Phase 3 carbon emission requirements ahead of schedule, exceeding current regulatory standards. Additional features include a ballast water treatment system and an Inventory of Hazardous Materials in line with the Ship Recycling Convention.

High propulsion efficiency is achieved through energy-saving devices, a high-efficiency propeller, and low-friction hull coating.

KL WINGS has an overall length of 199.98 meters, a beam of 32.24 meters, and a depth of 19.30 meters. The vessel has a deadweight of 63,699 tons and a gross tonnage of 36,140. It is powered by a 6S50ME-C9.7 main engine and has a service speed of about 14 knots. The ship is classed by NK and sails under the Singapore flag.
