Rhenus Türkiye secures IATA Dangerous Goods Certification

Rhenus Türkiye has obtained IATA certification for handling Dangerous Goods in air transport. The approval authorises the company to manage all nine hazard classes across its airfreight locations in Türkiye.

The certification allows Rhenus Türkiye to receive, prepare, and forward Dangerous Goods shipments for air transport. This includes classification, packaging, labelling, documentation, and signing Dangerous Goods Declarations. A dedicated Airfreight Special Cargo Department will manage these operations.

The company can now handle a wide range of DG cargo, including cosmetics, chemicals, vehicles, and lithium battery shipments. These categories are increasingly important in both export and import flows.

The expanded capability enables Rhenus Türkiye to support customers with packaging and documentation requirements. The service is particularly relevant for cosmetics, chemical, and vehicle manufacturers that require specialist compliance expertise.

Managing Director Mert Gedikç said the certification strengthens Rhenus Türkiye’s airfreight offering and positions the company among a limited group of forwarders qualified to handle Dangerous Goods.

Rhenus Türkiye said the move reinforces its focus on safety, compliance, and reliable air cargo operations.
