Brunei’s main container port, Muara, continues to grow as a hub in the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines-East ASEAN growth area.
The Southeast Asian sultanate’s first homegrown liner operator, Warisan Shipping Line, launched a joint service with Hong Kong-based SITC Container Lines on 13 December. Warisan commenced operations in August and Brunei’s Second Minister for Finance and Economy, Amin Liew Abdullah, said that more cargoes are flowing through Muara, consolidating its status in the BIMP-EAGA region.
