ADNOC Logistics & Services has taken delivery of Al Sadaf, the fourth in a series of six new-build LNG carriers constructed at China’s Jiangnan Shipyard. The vessel arrived on schedule and is departing immediately on its first commercial voyage.

The 175,000 m³ carrier is more than 25% larger than older models and is designed to cut methane emissions by up to 50%. It forms part of ADNOC L&S’s multi-billion-dollar fleet renewal program, which aims to boost efficiency, expand capacity and support rising global demand for lower-carbon energy.

Executives said the expanded fleet strengthens ADNOC L&S’s earnings potential and supports the company’s long-term value-creation strategy. CEO Captain Abdulkareem Al Masabi noted that each new vessel enhances operational efficiency and positions the company to capture new growth opportunities.

In addition, the delivery ceremony was attended by Al Masabi and ADNOC Gas CEO Fatema Al Nuaimi, who served as the vessel’s godmother. Al Nuaimi highlighted the growing coordination between ADNOC L&S and ADNOC Gas, pointing to the LNG Berth Upgrade Project at Das Island, which will allow the handling of larger carriers and improve export flexibility.

Al Sadaf features advanced dual-fuel engines and energy-efficient technologies that support ADNOC’s broader sustainability goals. Moreover, ADNOC L&S continues to play a central role in transporting LNG and other energy products from the UAE to global markets.

Lastly, two additional LNG carriers are scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2026. They are part of a wider new-build program that also includes nine Very Large Ethane Carriers and four Very Large Ammonia Carriers.
