GEODIS and EDF have signed a partnership to decarbonize the supply chain in France and worldwide.
The agreement targets lower emissions from GEODIS warehouses and global transport operations. It will also explore how GEODIS can deliver logistics services for EDF in key markets.
The two companies will work on several priority areas.
They will supply low-carbon energy to GEODIS sites in France and abroad.
They will improve energy efficiency in warehouses. This includes energy audits, consumption controls, and heat-recovery systems.
They will develop on-site renewable energy. GEODIS will install solar panels on warehouse roofs and build solar carports.
They will expand EV charging networks. The focus will be on cars, vans, trucks, and subcontractor fleets. This will support faster electrification.
They will study how to upgrade GEODIS land assets. This includes reviewing some locations for conversion into data centers.
The partners will also assess GEODIS’ role in supporting EDF projects. This includes logistics for equipment sourcing, storage, and distribution for energy facilities.
A Strategic Steering Committee will meet in the coming days. It will oversee project execution and monitor results.
EDF subsidiaries, including Izivia and EDF Power Solutions, will take part in talks where relevant.
Marie-Christine Lombard, Chairwoman of GEODIS, said the deal supports the company’s climate strategy. She said it also opens new growth opportunities and strengthens cooperation between two French leaders.
Marc Benayoun, EDF Executive Director, said logistics causes 16% of France’s CO₂ emissions. He called decarbonization a major challenge. He added that EDF will provide a full range of solutions to cut GEODIS’ carbon footprint.
