Kalmar and Independent Rough Terrain Center LLC (IRTC) have formed a strategic partnership. Kalmar will distribute and service IRTC’s Rough Terrain Container Handler (RTCH) globally.

Kalmar is a global leader in sustainable material handling equipment and services. IRTC is a U.S.-based manufacturer of heavy-duty rough-terrain machines. Through this agreement, Kalmar adds the RTCH to its product range. Kalmar will also provide training, technical support, and aftermarket services through its international network.

IRTC designed the RTCH for extreme environments. The machine works where standard equipment fails. It combines strength, flexibility, and mobility. It handles containers and cargo in areas without infrastructure. Typical uses include defence, mining, and resource exploration.

Stephen M. Speakes, President and CEO of IRTC, said the partnership expands the company’s global reach. He said the RTCH has a strong record in commercial and defence operations. He added that customers will now benefit from Kalmar’s trusted sales and service network worldwide.

Alf-Gunnar Karlgren, President, Counter Balanced, Kalmar, said the partnership strengthens support for operations in difficult environments. He said these include mining, oil and gas projects, and rural infrastructure development. He added that the partnership pushes the limits of where reliable material handling can operate. He said Kalmar is proud to offer customers a best-in-class rough-terrain handling solution.
