Pacific International Lines (PIL) celebrated the maiden call of its new “O”-Class vessel, Kota Orkid, in Singapore. The 8,200 TEU LNG dual-fuel ship is now operating on PIL’s South West Africa Service (SWS) route as part of its inaugural journey.

To mark the occasion, PSA Singapore presented a commemorative plaque to Master Capt. Kan Liang, who in turn gifted a miniature replica of Kota Orkid to PSA.

Named after Singapore’s national flower, Kota Orkid reflects resilience, elegance, and progress, qualities aligned with PIL’s vision. The vessel runs on LNG and can also use greener bio-methane fuels, featuring energy-saving technologies to reduce the company’s carbon footprint.

After Singapore, Kota Orkid will call at ports in Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, and Côte d’Ivoire before returning to Asia. PIL says the vessel underscores its commitment to fleet renewal, greener shipping, and advanced maritime technology.
