Danish product tanker owner Torm has continued its tonnage reshuffle with a fresh secondhand deal for four 2014-built MR vessels, extending a busy year of buying and selling vessels as part of its ongoing renewal programme.
The Copenhagen- and New York-listed firm said the latest deal brings its 2025 vessel transactions to the acquisition of one LR2 and four MRs, alongside the sale of one LR2 and six MRs. The new vessels are slated to join the fleet during the fourth quarter of 2025.
The new purchases follow several fleet changes during the year. In the third quarter, Torm sold and delivered its 2008-built MR tankers Torm Discoverer and Torm Voyager, while also selling the 2007-built Torm Adventurer. In exchange, the company agreed to buy the 2010-built LR2 SKS Driva, which will be renamed Torm Gauri and delivered later this year.
As of end-September, Torm owned 77 product tankers and held 11 vessels under sale-and-leaseback agreements with purchase options. The company also converted 13 leased ships—including four LR2s and nine MRs—into full ownership under its ongoing refinancing strategy.
Following completion of the latest acquisitions and divestments, Torm’s fleet will stand at 92 vessels.
