The LEGO Group, the world’s largest toy company, has expanded its partnership with Kuehne+Nagel by launching a new distribution centre in Truganina, located in Victoria, southeastern Australia.

Covering 26,500 square meters and capable of storing 26,000 pallets, the facility will support both B2C and B2B operations for LEGO customers across Australia and New Zealand. The distribution centre is equipped with advanced automation to streamline operations and promote sustainability. This includes carton-reducing technology aimed at minimizing packaging and waste.

“We are delighted to partner with Kuehne+Nagel as our new logistics partner in the Australian market. This new world-class distribution centre in Truganina will allow us to continue with our expansion plans for this very important market as we strive to reach more kids and adults with our iconic LEGO bricks,” commented Troy Taylor, Vice President & General Manager for LEGO Australia.

Additionally, the facility features dual 100kW solar panels to lower electricity consumption and feed excess energy back to the grid. Water-saving technologies also support the facility’s amenities and landscaping.

The distribution centre has earned a 5-star Green Star Rating, reflecting “Australian excellence” in sustainable building practices, as recognized by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).

“This project showcases our growth strategy and dedication to expanding our footprint and distribution model in the Pacific and strengthening our partnership with the LEGO Group. Beyond being a fulfilment centre, it is a hub of efficiency, innovation, and sustainability, equipped with the latest technologies, automation, and eco-friendly practices,” stated Francis Murugan, Managing Director for Kuehne+Nagel Australia.
