Cavotec has signed two new contracts worth a combined EUR 9.35 million with a leading global container shipping company. The deals cover shore power systems for both newly built and existing container vessels.

The first contract, valued at EUR 5.55 million, involves retrofitting Cavotec shore power systems on a large number of existing vessels. The upgrades will take place while the ships remain in service on routes between Asia, the United States, and Europe. Deliveries are set to begin this year and continue through 2026.

The second contract, worth EUR 3.8 million, extends a previous EUR 8.1 million agreement announced in May. It includes systems for new container vessels, with deliveries scheduled to start in the second half of 2026.

Cavotec’s shore power solutions allow vessels to plug into local electrical grids while docked, cutting fuel consumption and emissions and helping operators meet international environmental regulations.

“These significant orders from one of the world’s leading container shipping companies highlight Cavotec’s strong position in the shore power market,” said David Pagels, CEO of Cavotec. “They demonstrate the customer’s confidence in our technology and our ability to deliver sustainable solutions to the maritime sector. The agreements also strengthen our long-term partnership with this global shipping leader.”
